stick.town18+ · A place to say helloEnter town

A little town. A real conversation.

Make room
for a hello.

Sometimes connection starts with nothing more than being in the same place.

Stick Town is built around that simple idea: a shared place to wander into, meet someone and talk. A familiar face. A passing conversation. A new friend. No elaborate introduction required.

We want the town to feel easy to enter and easy to leave. Explore at your own pace, join a public circle, or take a conversation private by mutual agreement. You decide how long to stay and what to share.

01

Show up as yourself.

A stick figure, your real face, and a little curiosity.

02

Give people a choice.

Private chats need consent. Leaving is always an option.

03

Be a good neighbor.

Respect the people who make this place a town.

Before you wander in

A few things to know.

What is Stick Town?

A shared place to wander, meet people and talk. Your character is a stick figure with your own face. Walk up to a public conversation, say hello, and see where it goes.

Who can join?

Adults aged 18 and over. You must use a current photo of your own real head to create a character. Our adult declaration and photo checks do not verify someone’s identity or age.

Do I need an account?

You can explore as a visitor or create a guest character. A guest character lasts up to 24 hours on that browser. Create an account to save your profile, keep saved chats and add friends. Saved chat history covers messages sent while you are present and is kept for up to 90 days.

Can I walk to another district?

Yes. Follow the main road through either open end to reach the next district. The route loops around and skips districts that are full. Leave your conversation before travelling. You can also choose a district from the Town register.

Who can read a public chat?

Nearby people can read recent public messages, including visitors exploring without a character. Other characters can join a public conversation. Treat public chat as a conversation in a shared space.

How do I start a private 1:1?

You must already be in the same public chat. Open that person’s profile and choose “Request private 1:1.” You both stay in the public chat until they accept. Accepting moves just the two of you into a new private conversation with a fresh message thread. You cannot send this request to someone walking around town or in another conversation.

What happens to the rest of the public chat?

If at least two people remain, their public chat continues. If only one person remains—for example, when two people split off from a three-person chat—the public chat closes and that person returns to exploring town.

Can the whole group go private?

Yes. “Make group private” asks everyone in the current conversation to agree. It keeps the group together. This is separate from requesting a private 1:1 with one person. Everyone must also agree before a private group reopens to the public.

How private is a private conversation?

Only its members receive private messages. Other people cannot join, and reopening the conversation does not reveal earlier private messages. Chats are not end-to-end encrypted. Participants can save, copy, screenshot or report messages, so share thoughtfully.

What if someone makes me uncomfortable?

You can leave any conversation. Open their profile to block or report them. Blocking separates you from that person; reports can include conversation evidence. Reports are reviewed without a guaranteed response time and are not an emergency service.

What are the voices I can hear?

Town ambience uses indistinct recorded crowd sounds, not anyone’s microphone or spoken chat messages. It gets quieter as you move away. Use the speaker button to mute sounds, or Settings to adjust volume and chat cues.

How do heads turn?

Your own face photo stays the front view. We prepare estimated side and back views so your character can face their walking direction or conversation. The unseen views are approximations and may differ from your actual appearance.

Can I delete my data?

Use Saved chats to delete your saved copies, or Profile to delete your character and photo. Deleting your copies does not remove copies saved by other participants or submitted abuse evidence. The legal and privacy information below explains retention.
